“How do plastic bottles become clothes?”

We get asked this alot. And it’s a cool answer! Contrary to popular belief, plastic IS breathable, and you’re already wearing it. Spandex, polyester, and lycra sound familiar? Yep, those are plastics. The difference with the fabrics we use (they’re all of those!) is that they’re made from recycled plastic, aka bottles and things we discard. 

 It’s a heck of a lot easier (and cheaper) to use virgin plastics, but isn’t is pretty cool to know that your leggings or dress or skirt kept about 25 bottles out of the landfill?

Bottles gett chopped up into flakes, then those get pressed into pellets. Those get extruded into thread, which get wound onto large cones that go onto knitting machines to create our blank white fabric.

Why don't all brands do this? It's a simple answer - money! It costs a LOT more to make fabric this way, so the materials are more expensive which all boils down to less profits.
