Wanna know how you can get in on the season’s first opportunity to buy a Treasure Dress? Next week, on September 28th, we kick off Youer’s largest project ever - a 30 day fundraising event to Build the Youniverse. AKA our own whimsical clothing factory outside Missoula Montana) for more control over how when and where our products are made. Community is the most important piece of this brand, so we’ll be doing it together. AND a huge portion of it will be funded through the sale of Treasure Dresses.

This is serious, and we’re serious about making this happen. For the better part of a year, we’ve been actively planning this transition to make a portion of our products locally. We’ve been through a real estate roller coaster these last few months, as the property we had planned to buy (and close on in early August) fell through. But “pivot” has become the middle name of this company, so it’s just a blip. The funds raised during this event, will be the last push needed to secure real estate for a home for Youer, and begin building a local production team. 

An absurd amount of production challenges over the last 5 years of making things in the USA have made vertical integration our best and only option. 2% of the clothes we buy in the USA are made in the USA, and pretty much none of those are made in Montana. We want to change that. In 2020, we had such incredible mismanagement of materials by our suppliers, that it nearly put us out of business. Tough is an understatement, but our customers were rooting for us to succeed the whole way, and when we announced that building our own factory was the solution to our problems, we were met with so much joy and support and overwhelming messages of “how can we help?”. So we’ve found a way. It’s called a CSA.

What’s a CSA? Typically it’s Community Supported Agriculture - a tool used by farms to guarantee sales and collect operating expenses in advance of the growing season. In OUR case, it stands for Community Supported Apparel. It’s our take on a crowdfunding campaign but Youer style - unlike any other. Over these 30 days, we’ll be selling and preselling a beautiful selection of goods all in an effort to fund the building of a factory together as a community. 

Through this crowdfunding event, we’ll be raising necessary funds to secure a building and keep this process going. What’s unique to this event is that we’ll be hosting the campaign on our own site instead of a platform like Kickstarter or IndieGogo.
