Why Returns Stink (hopefully not literally)
Please Note: We are not trying to discourage you from returning products. We get it, sometimes when you order things online, they just don't quite work out for you. We want you to LOVE our products. But we want to give some background on what returns to a small company really look like. For our Return Policy Go Here
What does it really mean when you return something to a small brand like Youer? You ship it back, we charge you $8 for shipping, but there’s so much more to it.
When stuff comes back to us we carefully inspect the clothes to make sure we can re-sell them. And yes this means looking for crusty crotches and sniffing stinky pits – we’ve seen it all. We often have to lint-roll your pet hair off of your returns! Then we re-tag + re-bag in order to re-sell returns. If we can’t re-sell it, then we wash it and save it for a sample sale, or a rainy day.
We have a 30- day return policy. The reason for this is because our product turns around so quickly. What we have in March, we probably won’t have in April. BUT if you make your return label within our 30-day window, and don’t ship it back for another month or two, we then have to spend time figuring out what to do. Yes, you created the return within the 30 day window BUT didn’t ship it back right away! Leaving us with several different questions to consider:
- Do we refund you and make an exception?
- Do we send the product back to you on our dime?
- Do we give you a gift card?
And this is tricky all timing because how do we resell a ‘sold out’ skort that got returned in January? We can’t!
If your return gets lost or damaged in the mail, we still give you your money back! The full cost of purchase, minus $8 for shipping. We’re still responsible for replacing the item or refunding you.
So, you might be thinking why does this matter and why are we talking about this? We want to remain transparent Returns can be a BIG deal for us because some of our products tend to sell out very quickly.
We put a TON of effort into making sizing videos and tools (including how to measure yourself!) so you can confidently buy the right size the first time. We are not H&M, we don’t have ‘unlimited’ inventory. And when you ‘rent’ it from us to create your own personal fitting room, it leaves others disappointed.
So, if you think you might want to scoop up a bunch of different sizes and colors on our next launch (to try on at home) please reach out instead – we’ll GLADLY take the time to help you understand our sizing and color selections to avoid return hell. We are here to help you! Seriously!
